Richard Balarkas, managing director of Credit Suisse, has been elected cochair of Fix Protocol Limited's Global Steering Committee. He replaces Alan Line, who retired.

Nasdaq appointed William O'Brien SVP of new listings with the corporate client group. He will be responsible for attracting U.S. listings, including IPOs and exchange switches. O'Brien previously served as SVP of the market data distribution group.

ESpeed COO Paul Saltzman was elected to The Bond Market Association's board of directors and will serve as the 2006 chairman of the Brokers Advisory Committee.

Advent Software hired Creighton Reed to manage internally developed products and third-party services as director of trade order management and compliance.
