Swiss Firm Enhances Fund of Fund Software

Infonic AG Releases Version 4.3 of HedgeSphere Software that includes Risk Analysis, FX Hedging and Fee Calculations

Infonic AG, provider of HedgeSphere, a product suite for operations of Funds of Hedge Funds, today introduced HedgeSphere 4.3, the latest version of its software suite for FoHFs. The release offers innovative new functionality for portfolio administration and the middle office, providing managers with greater liquidity control, asset management, transparency and investor servicing.

The HedgeSphere suite is comprised of two products, HedgeSphere PAD, for portfolio administration, and HedgeSphere MO, for portfolio management, planning and dealing. In this latest release, HedgeSphere PAD provides enhanced capabilities for the calculation and processing of investor fees, including: in-advance fee calculations, automated fee crystallization and investor equalization tracking. In addition, HedgeSphere PAD now supports natural hedging and provides real-time views of cash available across accounting entities. Version 4.3 of HedgeSphere MO provides improved trading workflow and exchange of information among portfolio managers, as well as enhanced equity exposure analysis.

“For many funds of hedge funds, including those with complex portfolio structures, management and incentive fees are still calculated manually - a time consuming and error-prone process. This is an area of supreme client sensitivity, being the primary source of revenue for the management function and a major factor in liability and credibility in administration. HedgeSphere PAD 4.3 provides advanced automation to simplify and streamline the fee calculation process, providing near-real time availability, improving accuracy and transparency over fees and their attribution to investors,” said Thomas Furrer, Infonic AG’s CEO, in a company release. “On the front and middle office side, HedgeSphere MO 4.3 provides tools to improve trading workflow and the exchange of information among portfolio managers, as well as enhanced equity exposure analysis.”

The HedgeSphere software suite, introduced in 1999 and today in use by top global funds of hedge funds asset managers and administrators, enables Fund Managers to measure and track their investment strategies and provide critical forecasting and management of cash. At the same time, it keeps the middle office in moment-to-moment step and drives back-office efficiency with valuations and position tracking, fee management, reconciliations, and reporting capabilities.

In addition to enhanced fee calculation, HedgeSphere PAD handles multi-level accounting, hedge fund pricing, NAV, multi-currency cash management and cross-portfolio rebates. HedgeSphere MO offers scenario-based visual trade planning, cash and FX Management, dealing and liquidity term support, allocation breakdown and pre-trade compliance checking. It also offers trade approval, instruction and tracking workflow with an open interface to external systems.
