SunGard Deploys Low Latency Market Data Servers for GLNet
Sungard has implemented new ultra-low latency market data distribution (MDD) servers for
SunGard says the new MDD servers are geared to management of volume spikes in turbulent market conditions. The new servers, which significantly increase market data throughput compared with previous versions, will gradually roll out through 2010, replacing all of SunGard’s existing market data servers. The goal is to deliver increased performance and capacity to SunGard’s market data customers.
“A consequence of the fragmentation of liquidity in the U.S and Europe has been that market data volumes have increased sharply. SunGard’s customers need not only smart order routers and automated trading systems, but also market data distribution servers able to operate with ultra low latency,” stated Vincent Burzynski in the release. “SunGard is committed to developing and deploying servicers offering microsecond latency,” he added in the release.
