Liquidnet to Host 3rd Event in Series of Forums
With institutional investors showing interest in the mobile space, Liquidnet is hosting its third conference in a series of Liquidnet Forums planned for New York on May 25 focusing on mobile marketing and advertising. The event will feature panels of experts from such companies as Nielson Company, iLoop, Medialets, Weather.com and TrueAction, and will be moderated by OTR Global’s media team.
Liquidnet is announcing the upcoming Forum, as part of its new approach to research that is proving popular with its institutional clients. The firm has executed over 60 one-on-one meetings between issues and portfolio managers/analysts at buy-sides after conducting only two events this year, according to a company spokesman.
“Information on Wall Street has largely become a commodity, often providing very little real competitive advantage for many buy-side firms,” commented Seth Merrin, Founder and CEO of Liquidnet, in the release.” Liquidnet is bringing our innovative approach to the research model by bringing together leading company executives, academics and industry players to create an intimate forum that provides a 360 degree view of an industry sector.”
Panelists at the May 25 conference will explore the changing landscape of the mobile marketing and advertising space from multiple perspectives with a focus on the investment implications. The keynote speaker will be Maria Mandel, senior partner – executive director of Digital Innovation & Digital Lab NA and North American Chair of the Mobile Marketing Association.
Institutional investors are showing interest in the topic of mobile advertising and marketing after a flurry of investments by the likes of Apple, Google, Hewlett-Packard and Verizon, noted Liquidnet in the release.
“Investors can expect to hear what revenue models are in place for mobile marketing spending, as well as, where brand advertisers are currently finding ROI and about their strategic investments for future brand building and mobile commerce,” said Rachel Dangermond, Media Director at OTR Global. Panelists will examine where the smartest mobile dollars are being deployed, what barriers exist, and how easily they will be removed to capitalize on the billions of dollars in spending expected in the next few years.
According to Liquidnet’s release, the Liquidnet Forum is rapidly gaining momentum by delivering information that is viewed as “must have” among the institutional portfolio mangers and analysts. Earlier this year, Liquidnet hosted a health care research forum in Boson and an agricultural research forum in New York. Both events were praised by attended who attended the daylong sessions and one-on-one meetings with corporate executives, Liquidnet said.
"We create innovative forums that lead to unique idea generation for our member community," stated Merrin in the release. Liquidnet's members include the largest institutions, who manage approximately 70 percent of U.S. equity assets under managments. Liquidnet partnered with OTR Global, a provider of industry intelligence for institutional investors, in developing the research forums. Liquidnet also has a minority investment in the parent company of OTR Global.
