IND-X Announces Leading Asia As Major Shareholder
IND-X announced that a South Korean investment group, Leading Asia (Holdings) Limited, has become a major shareholder in the company which specializes in commission management.
The deal enables IND-X, supplier of an execution and commission management platform with offices in London and Hong Kong, to expand and evolve into one of the leading CSA providers in Asia and globally, according to IND-X. The additional funding and expertise from Leading Asia will allow IND-X to provide enhanced and additional products for its clients and to become the industry CSA de factor standard, according to IND-X's release.
IND-X said demand for its execution platform and commission management platform (PORT) has grown rapidly since its inception in 2007, noting that the market in Asia has significant potential to grow.
The commission sharing space in Asia is growing, as is demand for research from independent and alternative product providers, according to IND-X. Though unbundling of commissions, CSAs are a payment mechanism for research products.
Commenting on the investment Peter Twist, CEO of IND-X stated, “We have been fully operational now for two years, and this investment marks the next stage in our growth and push into the Asian markets. To have a major investor with the caliber, innovation and flair of Leading, with so many synergies between us, is an indication of just how ripe for expansion this market is. Leading’s investment in IND-X provides us with even more capability to further develop our client offering in the CSA and execution space.”
Leading Asia (Holdings) Ltd is a subsidiary of Leading Investment & Securities Ltd of South Korea, which is a leader in providing technology driven platforms with a balance sheet in excess of US$320m (as at June 2010). Together, the businesses have strategy for expanding their service offering in North Asia and globally, building on Leading’s existing brokerage platform in the region.
