Advent Software Receives U.S. Patent for Tamale Research Management System
Advent Software, the provider of software to the global investment management industry, said the United States Patent and Trademark Office had issued a patent (#7466088) for a key component of its Tamale RMS, research management solution.
Advent received a patent for a component of Tamale RMS which enables investment professionals to more easily find and retrieve research related to specific investment queries or topics. The patent, applied for in 2004 with the USPTO, relates to computer based tools that allow investment professionals to associate information with a particular entity upon receipt, and to further facilitate the retrieval, update, and distribution of that information either upon request or in real time.
The software enables asset managers and analysts to tap its research, along multiple dimensions, creating a sophisticated matrix of relationships between research items. In this manner, Tamale filters huge quantities of research to identify the most relevant information for investment decision-making.
“Tamale RMS is specifically designed to support the core activities of investment professionals and enhance the research and investment decision-making process,” said John Fawcett, senior director, product development at Advent. “The issuance of this patent by the USPTO recognizes one of many innovations that make up our unique research management solution. Our investment in the development of Tamale RMS has enabled us to deliver the advanced tools and solutions that our clients have come to expect from Advent.”
Through its easy to use interface, Tamale RMS facilitates the retrieval of proprietary and external research, such as financial models, contacts, news, events and essential Web sites, according to Advent’s release. Tamale RMS allows firms to replace inefficient, disorganized filing systems based on email and shared folders or proprietary applications that require ongoing investment and support.
