Operations Newsflashes: JPMorgan Creates 100 New Jobs, and more
JPMorgan Chase & Co. plans to expand its Glasgow, Scotland-based European Technology Center, creating 100 new high-paying jobs. The center, which was created in 1999 to design and develop technology systems to support JPMorgan’s global financial services operations, currently employs 600 people. The 100 new positions are for highly-skilled software engineers.
“Glasgow continues to provide JPMorgan with access to a highly talented and skilled workforce and it is a key strategic location for JPMorgan globally,” said Michael Ashworth, CIO of JPMorgan, in a release.
The Glasgow operation focuses on development and support of banking applications and systems for the Investment Bank and the JPMorgan Asset Management divisions. The project is being supported with $2.66 million in regional selective assistance from the Scottish Executive.
“Thanks to continued support from The Scottish Executive, we look forward to the further expansion of our operations in Glasgow and to attracting top talent to the business,” said Paul Murphy, CEO of JPMorgan Scotland Services Limited, in a release.
