Financial Fusion Inc., a Sybase company, announced that Baring Asset Management, part of the ING Group and a global investment-management company, has licensed the Financial Fusion Server with GlobalFIX to advance its transition to electronic trading. Baring Asset Management has licensed the Financial Fusion Server with GlobalFIX to integrate into their new order management and dealing system as part of its effort to accelerate its progress towards straight-through processing. Financial Fusion provides the global investment-management company with an end-to-end solution for its investment customers and brokers to electronically process indications of interest, quote requests and trades using the FIX.
Tremont Advisers, Inc., a global provider of hedge-fund investment management, announced that it has established a joint development relationship with the RiskMetrics Group, a financial analytics and technology company that provides benchmark risk measurement and wealth management tools to financial institutions. The companies are working together to develop Web-based risk reporting for hedge fund managers and investors. Tremont has selected RiskMetrics as its exclusive risk-reporting provider. The relationship addresses certain issues specific to the alternative-investment industry, such as balancing the need of investors for risk exposure information with the need of hedge fund managers to preserve their proprietary trading strategies.
SunGard Investment Management Systems, an operating group of SunGard, announced that Hill Martin Asset Management Ltd (HML) has licensed PAL, SunGard's Web-enabled private client investment-management solution. PAL offers a front-to-back investment accounting and reporting service for U.K. asset managers of private clients. HML will use the PAL service to enhance their discretionary investment-management service to private clients, trusts, companies, and pension funds.
Over 50 fixed-income analytic systems will be reviewed and evaluated in a new research report prepared by Cutter Associates for The Technology Council; a membership organization of over 45 investment-management firms. The report will be presented at the upcoming Technology Council conferences scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4 in New York City and Dec. 11 in London. The December conferences will also present new research on IT Organization and Structure for investment-management firms.
