Several leading consulting firms and financial software conglomerates claim they have the expertise to run a managed service for reference data. Three consulting firms -- Accenture, Capco and IBM Business Consulting -- and financial services software giant SunGard are among the top players vying for The Street's reference data business, which is estimated to be a $5 billion to $7 billion market per year.
