The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation has named Bill Stenning vice president for business development. Stenning, who previously served as a managing director of Trading & Risk Systems at SunGard, will be based in London.
Barclays Capital hired Jerry Hammerschmidt as director in OTC equity derivatives sales in its investor solutions group. Hammerschmidt previously was a managing director and head of European hedge fund sales at BNP Paribas. BarCap also added Sean Gordon and Vicky Bligh to its investor solutions team. Previously with the firm's investment grade credit sales team, Gordon and Bligh will focus on third-party distribution.
ICAP appointed Roy Zimmerhansl head of electronic securities lending. He will be responsible for spearheading ICAP's entry into electronic securities lending brokerage and guiding the launch of a new electronic trading platform. The former head of global sales and marketing of securities lending at Deutsche Bank, Zimmerhansl also has worked at Rabobank, Nomura and Chase Manhattan.
Mt. Pleasant, N.C.-based Automated Trading Desk named Jack Vensel EVP of sales and marketing. Vensel most recently was an executive vice president at Island ECN, the former electronic marketplace now known as Nasdaq's INET.
Felix Carabello, associate director, industrial commodities sales, at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, has been promoted to director of CME alternative investment products. He will oversee the development of all CME alternative investment derivatives, such as weather, housing and economic derivatives.
BNY Brokerage hired Gregory Hickey as senior vice president and sales trader. Hickey joins BNY from FulcrumGlobal Partners, where he was a managing director and equity sales trader.
