Reuters Becomes One-Stop Shop for Real-Time Collaboration and Compliance
As enterprise instant messaging continues to grow in popularity, Reuters is making a bid to become a one-stop shop for real-time collaboration and compliance, launching its Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager (RMCM) at the SIFMA show.The new hosted service allows customers to log all Reuters Messaging (RM) communications for up to seven years, says Chris Lamb, senior vice president, strategic alliances for Reuters.
"With the tightening of the regulations noose we wanted to have a compliance service to complement Reuters Messaging," he said.
RM is currently used by 90,000 financial market professionals. The RMCM will now help compliance officers and IT managers adhere to compliance standards with customizable communication restrictions and permissions, as well as comprehensive user activity monitoring and reporting.
Lamb believes enterprise IM will continue to grow exponentially in the financial services industry. "It took off over the last five years, but we are still early in the curve," he said.
"Today IM is used by the front office but we'll also start seeing it used by the middle and back office," he said.
Lamb said he also expects to see growth in collaborative and federation services.
