Tech Professionals: An Endangered Species?

IT is in danger of extinction, says Lior Arussy, founder and president of the New Jersey-based consultancy Strativity Group, in his new book, Innovating IT: Transforming IT From Cost Crunchers to Growth Drivers.

The three-time author believes that current trends such as outsourcing and more self-sufficient technology users are positioning the IT function as a replaceable utility, and not a strategic asset. In order to escape their unfortunate fate, IT professionals must focus on user centricity - providing tailored information to each group of users based on their behavior.
