Study Shows Most Enterprises Lack a Strategic Security Vendor
Though most enterprises across industries do not have a strategic security vendor, nearly all (90 percent) plan to invest more in security solutions in the next 12 to 18 months, according to research firm Nemertes Research. The firm's latest report indicates that 57.4 percent of participants do not have a strategic security vendor, with 27 percent of these indicating that they "preferred to take a best-of-breed approach in their product selection," said Nemertes SVP Andreas Antonopoulos in a release.
Nearly 17 percent of respondents indicated they "didn't need" a strategic security vendor, meaning that "security has not been a strategic issue to date" or that "security is built into our systems, not separate from our existing infrastructure," according to the study.
