Sorice to Lead Merrill And ITG’s Block Alert

Having spent the past 10 years working at ITG in several senior roles, most recently as CEO of the Hoenig division, Steven Sorice has been appointed CEO of Block Alert, the block crossing network joint venture from New York-based Merrill Lynch and Investment Technology Group (ITG), also based in New York, that was announced in April of this year.

According to Sorice, Block Alert is primed for success as it will "take ITG's proven technology and liquidity, along with the institutional agency model, throw in anonymous crossing and partner that with Merrill Lynch's global distribution and liquidity." Though he admits "it's going to be a challenge," Sorice explains that "it's being made a lot easier for me because of the resources and support of both organizations."
