RISK-MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY

Reuters now markets Kiodex's Risk Workbench risk- management platform; Sun Microsystems releases its Enterprise Continuity solution; The Professional Risk Managers International Association hosts online discussion forum.

Reuters will now market Kiodex's Risk Workbench risk-management platform to its commodities and energy customers in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The Kiodex Risk Workbench is a commodities risk-management platform that includes deal capture, proprietary valuation models, transparent risk reports and independent market data.

Sun Microsystems has released its Enterprise Continuity solution, which enables multiple-data centers to perform as a unified center. In the event that one site goes down, transactions are automatically routed to alternative sites. Enterprise Continuity solution users will not have to re-boot applications or operate manual restore procedures. Sun will provide the solution through its Sun UltraSPARC processor-based servers, Sun StorEdge Open San Architecture and SunPlex clustering technology.

The Professional Risk Managers International Association will be hosting its second interactive, online discussion forum focusing on technology and the movement towards real-time risk management. The discussion forum is scheduled for December 9-13 and will be moderated by Roger Lang, a director of the Cornell Theory Center in Manhattan. The theory center is conducting primary research in association with PRMIA, looking at the application of high-performance technology to advanced risk modeling. The forum will build on the results of that survey with academic representatives, solution providers, consultants and risk practitioners taking part in the discussion.
