The Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA) has issued its first Statements of Standards, which takes a position on specific standards and best practices for risk managers. The Statement is titled: Appropriate Organizational Roles and Risk Management Budgets and is subject to a 30-day member-comment-period. In addition, PRMIA opened PRMIA Philippines, its 42nd chapter, and it named Anastasia Marina, a senior solutions specialist for Unisys Solutions Services Center as the first regional director.

Lloyds TSB, a U.K. financial-services group, chose SAS Risk Management for Banking software to provide a foundation for risk management that will go beyond the Basel II compliance. The SAS application is helping Lloyds TSB to meet all the requirements of Basel II, as well as to improve capital allocation, provide financial transparency, increase profitability and maximize the return for shareholders.
