Asset Manager 1798 Global Partners to Use Sophis Risk Tools

Hopes software will help manage risk of complex instruments.

1798 Global Partners, a New York asset manager founded by Swiss private bank Group Lombard Odier, has licensed Sophis Value, a cross-asset, front-to-back-office portfolio and risk management platform.

"Our primary requirements when looking for a system were firm-wide risk management capabilities and scalability. With Sophis, not only have we put in place a risk system that can be scaled to our future needs, but a portfolio management system that has given us an edge in handling complex instruments," said Stephen Grobman, chief risk officer of 1798. The 1798 executives also say the Sophis product integrated easily with existing infrastructure.
