Citadel's Hirschfeld Joins Asset Control
David Hirschfeld left his position as managing director of enterprise data services at Chicago-based hedge fund Citadel Investment Group to join the firm's data services provider, Asset Control, as senior vice president of operations. "I've been doing data infrastructure for the last 10 years and I really wanted to get back to the business side of the equation," he says.
Hirschfeld's capital markets career spans more than two decades and includes positions as the president and chief technology officer of the enterprise data standards initiative at Merrill Lynch, principal of the market data group at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and founder and CEO of Tudor Software, a company that developed analytical software for hedge funds. "Having been on the buy and sell sides, I have a really good idea of what the clients like," says Hirschfeld of his new role. "I bring a perspective that perhaps others are not as rich in."
