Pali Capital Expands with Three New Hires in Equity Trading
U.S. broker dealer Pali Capital has hired three sales traders, including Thomas Pierini, formerly with Bear Stearns, as it continues the expansion of the firm's equity trading team.
Pierini, who brings more than 16 years in the equity business, was previously a managing director principal at Bear Stearns in institutional sales trading where he worked since 1999. Prior to that, Pierini was at Credit Suisse First Boston where he was responsible for trading telecom and media as well as a calendar of new issues.
In addition, Pali Capital hired Michael Hock and Tania Wedmid who joined from Jefferies & Co. Hock brings more than 20 years of experience in the equity business and he joins Pali as director in equity sales trading. Hock worked in Atlanta and New York and was also the manager of the Jefferies office in Short Hills, New Jersey. Wedmid joins Pali as an equity sales trader. Prior to Pali, she worked with Hock at Jefferies and before that, was a financial analyst at Accenture.
All three new hires are based in the firm's New York office and report to Michael Towey and Kevin Fisher, co-heads of U.S. equities. "While other firms continue to downsize, we are definitely in growth mode," stated Fisher in the release. "We will continue to strengthen our team accordingly, highlighted by the caliber of the three individuals we just brought on board," added Fisher.
Pali Capital, a subsidiary of Pali Holdings, is an independent, global full-service institutional securities firm and investment bank serving mutual funds, investment managers and hedge funds since 1995.
