OTC Obstacles

In a poll of 20 asset managers and institutional investors conducted by JPMorgan Worldwide Securities Services at its "Operational Success in OTC Derivatives" forums in New York and London, the buy siders shared their biggest challenges in OTC derivatives operations. Eighty-five percent of respondents claim that data issues are the biggest obstacle to processing OTC derivatives.

The largest infrastructural challenge faced, according to 75 percent of those surveyed, is the functionality of their systems. And as far as people-related challenges, 65 percent noted a lack of necessary skills and knowledge throughout the industry. <<<
