SunGard Targets Alternative Investment Firms

SunGard launched version 4.2 of its InvesTier accounting and reporting software for alternative investment firms and administrators. The new release adds equalization credit/contingent redemption functionality as well as support for unitized funds, according to the Wayne, Pa.-based firm.

"Our customers require functionality on a single platform to compete in a global marketplace and stay competitive," said Emanuel Mond, president of SunGard's alternative investments business, in a release. "Today's fund structures span multiple legal entity types and domiciles. With the addition of equalization, SunGard's InvesTier now offers our customers a single, unified, global investor accounting solution to service their funds however they are organized."

InvesTier 4.2 also features new categories of capital transactions to enable more-granular descriptions of investor capital transactions, as well as the ability to calculate investor fees in the currency of the investor class or series, the vendor adds.
