Rosenblatt Hires Kannan as CTO
Rosenblatt Securities (RSI) hired Raman Kannan as chief technology officer. "Our goal is to become the preferred broker for asset managers who want to efficiently access all global liquidity pools across asset classes," Kannan says.
While he concedes that identifying new and better platforms, and integrating them into RSI's infrastructure, are challenges, Kannan adds, "Sourcing liquidity as new venues are launched and mature market venues consolidate -- making them available to our clients before anyone else does -- keeps us motivated."
Kannan says he is excited at the prospect of introducing new technology at RSI. "Half the battle is in winning the support of the senior management," he notes. "But the partners at RSI -- Scott Burrill, Joe Gawronski and Richard Rosenblatt -- are at the forefront of technology and have defined that to be my mandate."
Kannan joins RSI from Stamford, Conn-based alternative asset manager Five Mile Capital Partners, where he was a director.
