Goldman Sachs Exec Leads New Industry Options Market Share Working Group
Financial Information Forum Creates Options Market Share Methodology Working Group
The Financial Information Forum (FIF) announced the formation of its Options Market Share Methodology Working Group, which will focus on opportunities for bringing more transparency to options volume data by identifying the types of trades that could be broken out by OPRA or the OCC.
The formation of a working group came out of an FIF meeting at the Options Industry Conference where the different methodologies for calculating market share used by the OCC, ISE and BATS were discussed, according to a release.
Vishal Gupta, VP and head of U.S. listed options business development, Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading, and JP Xenakis, director and head of electronic options trading distribution, Barclays Capital, will be co-chairing the working group.
The Options Market Share Methodology Working Group will hold its first meeting on June 7, 2011.
