NCSA personnel introduce their workplace and mission, as well as outlining the divide between traditional and no-traditional supercomputing users. They review a recent Top500 (list of worlds fastest supercomputers) test made on the new Windows HPC Server 2008 product and reflect on its surprising performance (77.7% efficiency and a ranking of #23 on the top500 list), while also outlining what this means (simplicity, ease of use, greater integration and interoperability among disparate components) to the future of high performance computing and industries that have never had the access or specialized skills to utilize it before.
