Market Data Newsflashes
Tick Data releases NYSE and TAQ database.
Tick Data, a Washington, D.C.-based market-data vendor, has released the Tick Equity Database, which will offer New York Stock Exchange and Quote (TAQ) data. The product is aimed at investment professionals looking for a research-ready database of validated and filtered historical, intra-day trade and quote data from the NYSE, NASDAQ, and the American Stock Exchange.
Tick Data's process includes Ticker Mapping to adjust historical data for corporate actions, Condition Code Filtering for filtered underlying trade and data, and Price Filtering, a series of algorithmic filters to flag "bad ticks" and suggest corrected values. In addition, the database contains Data Validation to track symbols against third-party values, Custom Symbol Sets and File Configurations for clients to choose from U.S. equities or select customized symbol sets, and Stock Splits, Stock and Cash Dividends, a database that can automatically adjust historical prices for stock splits and dividends. Finally, the database offers a Survivor Bias Free Database, with data on more than 2,500 inactive companies.
