Investment Technology Newsflashes

Charles River Development and FXall offer FIX message-based FX-workflow solution; State of Wisconsin Investment Board opts for Eagle Investment Systems; PeopleSoft offers Enterprise Wealth Management.

Charles River Development, a Burlington-Mass.-based investment-technology vendor, has teamed up with FXall, a foreign-exchange electronic-trading platform. The alliance will offer a FIX message-based foreign-exchange workflow solution, targeted at global investment managers. Based on the success with the FIX protocol in the equities and fixed-income markets, the solution aims to automate the FX trade lifecycle. The solution addresses pre-trade, execution and post-trade, including portfolio management and trade confirmation. It will be available in Version 8 of the Charles River Investment Management System. FXall has aligned with Charles River as part of its Partner Channel Program, intended to ensure end-to-end integration with portfolio- and treasury-management solutions, according to Jack Lemonik, CTO of FXall and co-chair of the FIX FX Working Group.

State of Wisconsin Investment Board has opted for an investment-management solution from Eagle Investment Systems. The Boston-based vendor will manage the Board's Wisconsin Retirement System Trust Funds, which at $65 billion, is one of the largest pension plans in North America. SWIB will use Eagle Pace for a data hub and portfolio-management system, Eagle Performance for investment-performance measurement, and Eagle Reference Manager to manage its security reference data. In addition, the Board will use Eagle Portal to deliver it information via the Web. PeopleSoft Enterprise Wealth Management is the newest solution to come from the Pleasanton, Calif.-based vendor, with the goal of increasing customer retention and revenue using client management proactively. The solution includes modules for sales, portfolio management and strategic-account planning, as well as client management, which the vendor plans to release first. Client Manager will offer relationship managers, financial advisers, investment specialists and private bankers automation of their business activities using client understanding. It includes Client Summary for a holistic view of the client, Relationship Summary to understand the client's household and Referral Management for sales tracking. In addition, the solution includes Clients At Risk to identify potential competitor switches, and Client Holdings, sorted by financial amount, performance, or overall profitability.
