Prytania Investment Advisors Taps CMA DataVision for CDS Pricing

CMA sources data on credit default swaps from over 30 buy-side firms.

Prytania Investment Advisors has contracted with credit information specialist CMA , to provide independent pricing, risk metrics and group curves via DataVision for single-name credit default swaps and indeces, according to a company issued release.

In a statement, Mark Hale, chief investment office at PIA, the London-based asset manager and risk advisory firm, said: “We looked at a number of pricing vendors to support activities in our risk advisory practice, but we were particularly impressed with the accuracy of CMA’s data and the additional risk metrics they provide. Working with DataVision gives us the transparency we need to effectively analyze tends and identify risks in the credit markets,” stated Hale.

As a structured finance and credit specialist, Prytania provides both asset management and risk advisory services to institutional clients in Europe and the Middle East.

CMA DataVision is a high quality, same day, consensus based price verification data service for CDS, indices and tranches, used primarily for market-to-market, flash P&L, risk management, research and analytics. Data is sourced from over 30 buy-side firms including leading hedge funds, asset managers and the buy-side desks of global investment banks, according to the release.

According to CME’s CEO Laurent Paulhac in the release, there is interest in DataVision’s unique buy-side pricing methodology. Its focus on objectivity, independent and accuracy remains high as it gives risk departments a reliable and transparent source for CDS price verification.
