NYSE Euronext Aims To Boost Transparency With Markit Venture

NYSE Euronext said today that its commercial technology arm NYSE Technologies will integrate data from Markit BOAT in a bid to boost transparency in the European over-the-counter equity markets.

NYSE Euronext said today that its commercial technology arm NYSE Technologies will integrate data from Markit BOAT in a bid to boost transparency in the European over-the-counter equity markets.

The exchange operator said the initiative allows its customers to access OTC feeds from Markit and NYSE Euronext within NYSE Technologies’ financial transaction network. Data feeds will also be available within NYSE Euronext’s data centers, the company added.

“By working with Markit, we will offer our diverse client base and vendor community a consolidated OTC trade data product that provides enhanced levels of transparency, broad market coverage and simplifies data distribution,” NYSE Technologies senior vice president Mark Schaedel said in a statement.

NYSE Technologies said the integrated data from Markit BOAT will give users a single view of action across all major European cash equity markets.

“Data consolidation within the European equity markets can be made possible if all publication venues work together to harmonize their datasets,” Niall Cameron, an executive vice president at Markit added in a release. “This is a wide-ranging and ambitious project that we hope will attract a number of other publication venues across Europe.”
