ITRS Adds Visualization to IT Monitoring Software

Shows all the IT that lurks behind the scenes of a trading environment.

ITRS Group, a provider of IT management and monitoring products to financial firms, has rolled version 2 of its Geneos Framework.

Framework 2 is now fully multi-threaded, which should improve its performance. (All existing clients will be migrating to the new Framework 2 over time.) It now contains Active Dashboard, a new visualization component that allows users to create customized, graphical, real-time dashboards to represent their environment. The Active Dashboard can show business-level service and high-level key performance indicators and be used by traders and business heads to track the health and performance of their critical real-time systems. It provides comprehensive, hierarchical, aggregated high-level and/or detailed views on hundreds of thousands of individual metrics for the large numbers of different systems and applications that make up the global trading environment.

Another addition to the new framework is called Compute Engine. This analysis and consolidation component performs real-time, user-defined calculations such as moving averages or rates of change based on monitored metrics.'The Compute Engine can also be used to provide service level views, showing how operational metrics impact business-level services.
