GlobeOp Launches Form PF Reporting Service for Hedge Funds

GlobeOp said its service will aid hedge funds in meeting the Securities and Exchange Commission's new requirement for private fund reporting.

GlobeOp Financial Services announced the launch of a reporting service for large hedge funds and managed account platforms; an offering it said will aid asset managers with the Securities and Exchange Commission's new requirement for private fund reporting.

GlobeOp, a firm that specializes in hedge fund administration, said a single report under the new Form PF mandate requires 449 data points across 14 categories. As part of the offering, GlobeOp said it will aid hedge funds in gathering that data and in meeting the new regulations which are scheduled to take effect on January 15.

"The complex reporting forms are compounded by the fact that larger funds and managed account platforms often involve complicated portfolio, risk and performance data," said Tony Glickman, the global head of analytics at GlobeOp.

GlobeOp added that the required portfolio data will depend on fund type and size. It can also include asset and derivatives exposures, financing transactions, collateral arrangements, counterparty exposures and liquidity information. In some cases, funds will also need to provide risk data such as sensitivities, value-at-risk (VAR) and scenario analysis, the company said.

"By efficiently gathering data and drafting reports for client review and submission, we can help them meet regulatory obligations, save time and reduce investment in internal resources," Glickman said.
