ISE Announces Gemini as Name of New Options Exchange
The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced ISE Gemini is as the brand name of its new options exchange, which is targeted for launch in Q2 pending SEC approval.
The SEC published ISE's Form 1 application for a second exchange license on March 7, 2013.
According to the announcement, ISE Gemini represents a complementary options platform that will stand "side-by-side" with ISE's existing options exchange and together will act as drivers for long-term growth and innovation at ISE. ISE Gemini will also use the exchange's existing technology backbone and established member connectivity.
"We are proud to unveil the selection of ISE Gemini for our second options exchange, a name that evokes ISE's continual pursuit of innovation and growth," said Gary Katz, President and Chief Executive Officer of ISE. "ISE Gemini will enable us to build upon our strong, well-established technology foundation to offer member firms a choice of market and pricing models."
