Fulcrum Global Partners Inks Nearly $2 million Contract to Use NYFIX Platinum for Trading Listed and OTC Stocks

Fulcrum Global Partners signed a three-year contract worth nearly $2 million with NYFIX. Fulcrum will deploy the NYFIX Platinum platform on its equities trading desk for listed and over-the-counter (OTC) stock trading. It will also utilize the NYFIX Network for connectivity to exchanges and buy-side institutions for electronic order flow.

Fulcrum has been in production with NYFIX's listed trading platform, FIXTrader, since 2001, and it has decided to re-evaluate its system options in the OTC space, according to NYFIX.

"We've been impressed with NYFIX's listed offering and their high level of service. Their expertise in both the listed and OTC markets and our experience working with NYFIX on the listed side made us comfortable with the decision to move ahead with NYFIX Platinum for our entire desk," states Doug Henderson, Fulcrum's director of trading, in the release.

FPL Global Steering Committee Chooses Two New Co-Chairs

FIX Protocol Limited (FPL) announced that Alan Line of F&C Management and Scott Atwell of American Century Investments were both elected to serve as co-chairs of the FPL Global Steering Committee (GSC). The GSC includes representation from the leaders of each of FPL's four regional committees, two product committees and two service committees. The GSC's primary role is to effectively manage the organization's ongoing needs at both the strategic and operational level with support of the Executive Director, Peter Randall. Line, who is currently director of dealing at F&C Management, a Pan-European asset-management company for institutions and retail investors, previously served as co-chair of the European Regional Committee. "I am looking forward to further contribute to the ongoing success and development of FIX by helping steer the organizations appropriately to ensure the protocol's continued relevance in the marketplace," Line stated in a release about his recent appointment.

Atwell, who is currently the Manager of FIX Trading and Connectivity at American Century Investments, a global asset-management firm, currently serves as co-chair of the FPL Global Technical Committee and is also a member of the Americas Regional Committee. "I look forward to working with Alan and the members of the organization to continue building upon our success and achieving greater uptake of the protocol worldwide," Atwell stated in the release.
