Commodities to Launch on NYSE Liffe’s Bclear
NYSE Liffe, the global derivatives arms of NYSE Euronext, will launch soft commodity products on its Bclear services beginning March 30.
Bclear, which was launched in 2005, has already launched individual equity and index contracts and credit default swaps.
In a statement>, Garry Jones, Executive Director of Business Development and Strategy at NYSE Liffe, said, "Bclear offers advantages to customers who have previously used the over-the-counter market to trade commodities. It keeps the flexibility of OTC trading and it also provides the efficiency of on-exchange administration and processing, together with the security of a central clearing counter-party."
The Bclear service will initially offer cash-settled swap futures and options priced against the benchmark Robusta Coffee, Cocoa and White Sugar Contract already traded on NYSE Liffe.
Going forward Bclear is expected to add a range of commodity products including additional soft and agricultural commodity swamps and options with flexible maturities.
