Deutsche Bank’s Lehrman Moves to Merrill
Ira Lehrman joined Merrill Lynch as first vice president and head of global investment banking and client technology. Lehrman will oversee technology for global investment banking and global institutional sales across all of Merrill's debt and equity product lines. His responsibilities also include origination and syndication within the firm's capital markets business, as well as integration with the infrastructure data delivery services group on all business initiatives, including new applications, network problems and the opening of new offices. "At the end of the day, it's all my headache, and I graciously accept it with open arms," Lehrman says. He replaces Ian Lewis, who left Merrill Lynch in 2004.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Lehrman worked as the global business CTO of the debt capital markets group at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he was responsible for technology, strategy, architecture, planning, sponsorship, prioritization, delivery and budget. He's an active member of The Bond Market Association Technology committee and currently chairs the FIX Protocol Global Fixed Income Committee's eSyndicate Working Group.
