Bursa Malaysia to Upgrade Its Ticker Plant

Growing trade volumes at the tropical exchange have driven it to implement Thomson Reuters' RMDS.

Bursa Malaysia, the Southeast Asian exchange in Kuala Lumpur, has chosen Thomson Reuters to deliver a new data distribution platform to support its trading business.

The exchange will use components of Thomson Reuters Market Data System and direct feed technology, which will integrate incoming data feeds and publish them out to members.

Lim Jit Jee, chief information officer of Bursa Malaysia said in a statement, "As our market grows bigger and more sophisticated, there is greater need to ensure that our data distribution platform caters to speed and scalability of the changing landscape. This new market data gateway from Thomson Reuters will be beneficial to our customers as it allows the Exchange to package market data according to our customers' needs, as well as ensure that information is distributed in an expedient manner."
