Join Us For the Buy-Side Trading Summit

AT invites traders from the top hedge funds and asset management firms in Amelia Island, Florida on October 16th - 18th for sun, networking and incisive panels.

These are uncertain times. This summer we saw bad jobs numbers, nations teetered on the verge of default, the US credit rating slipped for the first time in its history and we had a late summer of extreme highs and lows on the global exchanges. Throw in extreme weather and an earthquake in New York and things seems even shakier than usual.

Sometimes it helps to stop and ask, "What's going on?"

Advanced Trading would like to invite you to attend the Buy-Side Trading Summit on Amelia Island, Florida. Our October 16 - 18th event will bring together men and women from top buy side firms to discuss the issues that vex today's hedge fund traders and portfolio managers.

Our sharp agenda will cover topics ranging from "Lessons Learned from the Flash Crash" to Building a Better Dark Pool." Our experts will make sense of the Dodd Frank Act and The Volker Rule and what it means for hedge funds. We'll discuss risk and transparency, high-frequency trading and algorithms. If you're uncertain about the myriad of issues swirling around the capital markets, you're not alone.

While I am proud of each and every panel on our agenda, I am looking forward to one in particular entitled "What's Wrong With Us?" In this panel session, we will discuss and debate the buy side's role in the market struggles of the past three years. Have we learned anything - or have we forgotten the lessons as we enter a double dip recession? Are we on the right path to a true economic recovery? I look forward to hearing what our panel and the audience has to say in this open and honest discussion.

In years past, Advanced Trading has convened nearly 60 buy side traders and portfolio managers to share their insights with their fellow attendees. Unlike other conferences where it seems that most speakers hail from technology firms, our panels will only have members of the buy side. Sponsors will have their own presentations on the agenda. Advanced Trading takes care to make sure that the AT Summit is as informative as possible. It's about networking and exchanging ideas, not pitches for products.

We realize that travel budgets are tight and days away from the trading desk are a real concern especially in this volatile market, but as editor of Advanced Trading, I am confident you'll find our event to be a net benefit for you and your firm.

Won't you join us for the 2011 Advanced Trading Buy-Side Summit? We know it will be one of the premiere events of the season and we hope to see you there.
