Orchestria Builds Compliance Solutions Group; Ashfield & Co. Selects Financial Tracking Technologies for SEC Compliance; AXS-One Partners With Sun to Offer End-to-End Compliance Solution

Orchestria Builds Compliance Solutions Group

Orchestria, a New York-based active policy management (APM) software provider, has created a Solutions Group to advise financial institutions on how to actively manage and enforce policy across every electronic communication channel, including e-mail, Web, instant messaging, handheld devices such as BlackBerry and Bloomberg communications. The Solutions Group is staffed by regulatory compliance specialists and electronic communications technology architects in New York, London and Washington D.C.

"Financial organizations face common problems of ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting intellectual property and reducing the data storage burden," said Steve Soechtig, vice president of the Orchestria Solutions Group, in a statement. "The Solutions Group's expertise lies in knowing where to start, how to solve these problems and how to regain control of all electronic communications -- we can take the headache away."

Ashfield & Co. Selects Financial Tracking Technologies for SEC Compliance

Ashfield & Co., a San Francisco, Calif.-based investment management firm with approximately $1.8 billion in assets in equity, balanced and fixed income portfolios, has selected Greenwich, Conn.-based Financial Tracking Technologies (FTT) for SEC compliance solutions. FTT is a financial software and financial data processing company that provides automated and consistent data scanning.

Companies use its technologies to detect undesired trends in securities and financial portfolios and material violations of compliance requirements. FTT's areas of service include mutual fund service provider oversight, fair and timely trade allocation, anti-money laundering, portfolio process consistency, pre-trade clearance, automated 204A-1 reporting, best execution, favoritism/decision checking, excessive account activity alerting and safeguarding of client assets.

AXS-One Partners With Sun to Offer End-to-End Compliance Solution AXS-One, a records compliance management software provider, recently announced a technology development and license agreement with Santa Clara, Calif.-based Sun Microsystems. Under the terms of the agreement, Sun will license the AXS-One Compliance Platform and integrate it as a key component of the Sun Compliance and Content Management Solution, a customer-ready system built around Sun's portfolio of storage and compliance products, its client solutions organization and the Solaris Operating System.

The AXS-One Compliance Platform is designed to securely capture, index, archive, search, supervise and manage the retention and disposition of all electronic records. It has been optimized for and integrated with the Sun environment to deliver an end-to-end platform that enables organizations to address compliance and governance requirements while helping to lower operational, administrative and storage costs. Sun's new Compliance and Content Management Solution will replace its current e-mail archiving solution, Infinite Mailbox.

"In a market where issues surrounding corporate governance have taken center stage, the need for records compliance management technology is going to escalate," said Andrew M. Schroepfer, president of Tier 1 Research, in a press release. "AXS-One was already positioned to be a key solution provider in this space, and we believe the new initiative with Sun will give the company unprecedented momentum."
