UBS appoints Oliver Bussmann as Group CIO
Oliver Bussmann, the former Global Chief Information Officer at SAP, has joined UBS Group as CIO. This move will be effective on June 1, according to UBS.
Most recently Bussmann was at SAP since 2009. Prior to SAP, he spent nine years at Allianz Group where he held a number of technology roles in various regions and divisions. Before joining Allianz, Bussmann worked at both Deutsche Bank and IBM. In 2012, Bussmann was named European CIO of the year by INSEAD, the graduate and business school.
Commenting on the appointment, Ulrich Koerner, Group COO stated, "Oliver's proven track record with large-scale technology transformations combined with his experience of financial services, software and managing large global teams all position him well to lead our Group Technology organization forward."
Bussmann succeeds Michele Trogni who, after 25 years with UBS, the last four of which she spent leading Group Technology, has decided to retire from the industry. Koerner commented, "Michele has been a key leader in the firm during times of both crisis and of growth, successfully leading functions in the Investment Bank and at Group level. I would like to thank her for the outstanding contribution she has made to UBS during her distinguished career with us."
