Credit Lyonnais Securities (USA) interfaces to the Fidelity ActionsXchange; JPMorgan moves MorganMarkets onto platform by Caplin Systems; Edgar Online aligns with Microsoft to offer financial information in Excel.

Credit Lyonnais Securities (USA), an investment bank and broker/dealer based in New York City, has agreed to use XcitekSolutionsPlus to create an interface to the Fidelity ActionsXchange data service. XcitekSolutionsPlus, a New York City-based corporate-actions-automation provider, will bring cleansed corporate-action data to Credit Lyonnais through its downstream corporate-actions processing and notification engine. While Credit Lyonnais has been a client of XcitekSolutionsPlus for 2 years, it will now be able to access ActionsXchange single feed of scrubbed and cleansed corporate-actions data derived from multiple sources.

JPMorgan recently moved almost all of MorganMarkets, its European and U.S. data portals for research, analytics, and other financial tools, onto a platform from U.K.-based Caplin Systems. MorganMarkets is tapping into Caplin's Real Time Text Protocol platform to provide real-time tradable and indicative prices to its 17,000 users. Caplin will also allow MorganMarkets to embed its real-time data directly into its existing portal using the vendor's Wide Area Messaging. The portal operates with JPMorgan department and pricing engines using Caplin toolkits to contribute proprietary data to Caplin Liberator servers. These servers, running on Solaris, then stream the real-time data to the MorganMarkets research site. In addition to providing data, the site uses JPeX Online to offer single sing-on access to electronic trading.

Edgar Online, a Norwalk, Conn.-based information provider, has formed an alliance with Microsoft Corp., to enable the vendor's public-company financial information to integrate directly into Microsoft Office's Excel. Edgar Online will deliver its financial information in XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) form to Microsoft Office Solution Accelerator for XBRL. Users can then use the XBRL format to populate documents, including Excel, for creating graphs and charts to compare and analyze companies. XBRL is an XML-based electronic language which will allow companies to report financial data in a Web-ready format or for import into other applications.
