Silicon Valley is Booming. What Can Other Industries Learn?
NBC's Tom Brokaw talks with Silicon Valley Financier Tim Draper of Draper Fisher Jurvetson about what the rest of the country country can learn from some of the successes that have come out of Silicon Valley. Not surprisingly, the time for venture capital is now, Draper contends.
Draper also says that some of the companies that are coming out of the famous technology hotbed in California will help drive job growth, as some firms are doubling in size each year. Most interesting, Draper adds, is the trend of IT globalization. For instance, today a technology company can be started anywhere and quickly spread across the globe.
Draper says other countries that have competing technology centers do not worry him. Instead, he says it is added competition and views it as the growth of the competitive free market. Here more of Draper's views in the interview with Brokaw from MSNBC:
