Penserra Securities hires Jason Valdez from Rosenblatt Securities
Penserra Securities has hired Jason Valdez, formerly director of trading at Rosenblatt Securities, as part of the expansion of its global trading capabilities.
“Penserra is fortunate to have Jason join its ranks, as he brings a deep and diversified set of skills from both the buy-side and sell-side. His wide breath of trading experience will further augment Penserra’s institutional service offering,” stated George Madrigal, president and CEO of Penserra Securities, an agency-only provider of execution services, which is a certified minority business enterprise.
Prior to his tenure with Rosenblatt, Valdez traded transition management portfolios for Russell Investment Services. He also spent three years at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he helped launch program trading, and five years at Bear Stearns.
“Jason is a key addition to an already growing institutional business and he will lead the effort to expand the firm’s program trading capabilities,” noted Madrigal, who was previously the head of transition management at Barclays Global Investors. “With the team’s background in transition management, Penserra is well equipped to effectively execute the most complex of equity programs,” further stated Madrigal in the release.
Valdez will initially work on the New York City trading desk, but will transfer to the California trading desk in 2010.
