Mountaineer Hedge Fund Implements Imagine

New York-based Mountaineer Investment Management LLC, a new event-driven long/short hedge fund has implemented Imagine Software's cloud-based ASP portfolio and risk management solution for the fund launched in 2012.

Mountaineer primarily trades equity, distressed debt, and related instruments via the ASP-based solution

Commenting on the technology implementation, Mark Lee, Mountaineer’s founder stated, “Last year, when Mountaineer started thinking about a comprehensive risk management solution, we were attracted to Imagine’s reputation within our organization and throughout the industry at large. In addition to equity and distressed debt instruments, we needed a system that could handle equity derivatives, CDS, converts, preferreds, and futures. Imagine was more than capable of supporting all the asset classes we required.”

After the implementation was concluded at the beginning of this year, Imagine now provides the firm with real-time P&L, exposure analysis, overall risk management capabilities, and comprehensive data management. According to the vendor, Imagine streamlines the trade life cycle by acting as a conduit between Mountaineer’s execution management system, prime broker and fund administrator.

Imagine also offers a secure and reliable cloud-based software solution that is sophisticated yet easy-to-use, states the release. It now provides Mountaineer with all the institutional-grade functionality and scalability needed to support the fund’s anticipated growth.
