Bloomberg is jumping into the foreign exchange dealing market by forming a broad alliance with EBS and competing head to head with Reuters. Under an exclusive global distribution agreement, EBS Trader will be launched on the Bloomberg Professional services from late third quarter 2003 and will enable customers to communicate and execute directly with other FX professionals. EBS Trader on Bloomberg will provide pre-trade, trade and post-trade services, including conversational-direct-dealing, audit trails and risk management tools.
Chicago Trading Company (CTC) is using Capital Markets Consulting's (CMC) gateway technology for eletronic market making at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and One Chicago. The gateway communicates with the exchange via the CMi interface. The gateway supports order routing, quoting requests for quotes and responses from the exchange.
The Nasdaq Stock Market's Vice Chairman Daid Weild, IV has left the market to pursue other interests. Weild, who joined Nasdaq in 2001, led the Corporate Client Group (CCG) and was a member of the Operations Management Committee. Joining Nasdaq is Christopher R. Concannon who was appointed executive vice president of strategy and business development. Concannon previously served as president of Instinet Clearing Services, Inc.
