BTIG Hired Former Knight Institutional Sales Trader in Atlanta
Institutional agency broker BTIG said it hired Beatrix Kondor, a veteran institutional sales trader from Knight Securitiesbased in Atlanta. Kondor will head up a new office in Atlanta that BTIG opened to expand in the southeast region.
“An opportunity arose to hire a talented institutional sales trader, enabling us to expand into the Southeast with a strong presence in Atlanta,” Steven Starker, co-founder of BTIG said in the release. “We are looking forward to building our team and further expanding our focus on the Southeast.”
The new BTIG office headed by Kondor is located in Atlanta’s Buckhead district.
Kondor , who has lived in Atlanta for over a decade, has strong personal ties to the southeast. Kondor spent the past eight years in Knight’s Atlanta office and also worked at Merrill Lynch and Kidder Peabody. She is a current board member and the past-president of the Georgia Securities Association.
BTIG plans to staff the Atlanta office with four or five additional hires in the next few months. The office will offer clients the complete range of BTIG’s services and products.
Last week, online brokerage firm Gain Capital said it hired Joseph Wald, a former head of Knight Direct, Knight Capital's institutional electronic trade execution business. Knight Capital is in the process of being acquired d by Getco after the firm's software error in August caused it to lose $460 million and seek a rescue from a consortium of Wall Street firms.
