Available Financial IT Jobs Decrease
Available technology-related jobs in the financial field dropped 10% this year on eFinancialCareers.com, according to job posting tracking information from the online financial services employment website.
"The trend has been turning around in the spring," says Constance Melrose, managing director of eFinancialCareers Americas. "Our spring numbers are not as strong as they were a year ago, but have been coming up again. The low point is in December, which is not unexpected because there's very little hiring in December typically, and so you would expect to see improvement in the spring where demand has increased, but it's not in the level that it was a year ago."
Overall, the financial industry feels more confident about domestic economic outlook and expects improved performance to continue for another six months, according to eFinancialCareers' Global Financial Professionals Survey.

Seventy percent of financial professionals surveyed are optimistic about finding another job if they loose their current one. However, two-thirds have no concern about being laid-off. eFinancialCareers speculates that people are influenced by the improving conditions and many financial firms economic performance.
Forty six percent believe the economic recovery in the U.S. will lead to a global recovery, while only 15% believe the Eurozone is getting back on track. The quarter of the people that think the economy will be worse in the next 6 months say it's because of the uncertainty with the Eurozone.
In total, 3,940 finance professionals were surveyed in May, with 2,427 from the U.S., 582 in U.K., 450 in France, 360 in the Middle East, 360 and 120 in Germany.
