Capitol Wealth Advisors Taps Paventi

David Paventi has joined Capitol Wealth Advisors -- a new wealth management subsidiary of Capitol Bancorp -- as COO. He will be responsible for managing the firm's vendor relationships and technology contracts, which he says will be largely outsourced at the fledgling Charlotte, N.C.-based firm.

Paventi spent the previous eight years at Bank of America in internal audit, risk management and support of investment bank operations. Most recently serving as VP of enterprise credit risk at the bank, Paventi left for the opportunity to work in a more intimate environment where he feels he has more influence on the direction of the organization. "The most interesting thing about this was getting into a company at the ground level -- being able to be involved in the strategic planning of an entire entity and being able to build that out over a period of time," he says. --C.L.
