Daniel Retzer is senior vice president and chief technology officer for North American (NorAm) Securities in SunGard's capital markets business. He is responsible for bringing the SunGard Financial Systems and capital markets technology vision to NorAm. This includes driving cross-product synergies, business line architectural oversight, and ensuring that the business unit's product and technology agenda is represented at the executive management level. Mr. Retzer is also the chief technology officer for SunGard's XSP, responsible for technology innovation and strategy across its full suite of solutions.
Daniel has previously held positions as vice president of software engineering and senior vice president of technology at XSP. Prior to joining XSP, he held technology leadership and management roles at the Colonial BancGroup. Daniel is a frequent speaker on topics around cloud and technology. He was the 2011 Constellation Research Cloud Computing "Supernova." He was also a top-rated speaker at CloudConnect 2012 for presenting XSP's Cloud Transformation Journey.
Daniel holds a B.A. from Auburn University and a M.S. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is actively engaged in a number of panels, committees and societies, including the SDPS Leadership Committee, Software Engineering Society Management Board, Alabama Information Technology Association Board of Directors, the Auburn University Alumni Advisory Board and the Alzheimer's Association of America regional Board of Directors.
