Barclays Capital, the investment-banking division of Barclays PLC, announced the appointment of Peter Goettler as head of the firm's Investment Banking Division in the Americas. Mr. Goettler will continue in his role as head of Debt Capital Markets,Americas with responsibility for debt origination, asset-backed securities, corporate-derivatives marketing, and private placements and will also assume leadership for the firm's relationship banking and loan product areas in the U.S. and Latin America.

webMethods, Inc., a provider of integration software, and Javelin Technologies, Inc., announced a strategic partnership to provide customers with an integration solution that works seamlessly with Javelin's Financial Information eXchange (FIX) connectivity offering. The companies will connect the webMethods integration platform with Appia, Javelin's electronic-trading infrastructure, providing the financial-services industry with a scalable, enterprise-wide application-integration solution complete with FIX connectivity.

The International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication is holding its 8th Annual Industry Forum and Vendor Exhibit on April 7, 2002 through April 9, 2002.
