Financial applications are compute-intensive and require incredibly fast hardware and software. IBM�s PowerXCell 8i processor and IBM BladeCenter QS22 provide the enormous computing power needed for complex processes such as collateral debt obligation and options pricing. The cell technologies from IBM enable financial markets firms to solve complex problems at a lower cost than ever before. IBM also provides firms with libraries and compilers to make it easy to port existing applications over to the cell platform. In addition, the cell platform integrates with the rest of the firms� hardware and software infrastructure, including third-party applications such as Calypso.
