The company will leverage its OneCalais service so that NewsScope Company Events eliminates all manual processes in order to provide clients with the fastest and most extensive coverage of market moving information. One Calais supports the interoperability of content within Thomson Reuters as well as with partner and customer content, and ultimately on the Web through its OpenCalais public counterpart.
Clients will gain access to data points from company news releases in the US so they can be incorporated into a firm's event-driven trading strategy. The information will be delivered in an XML format via Thomson Reuters NewsScope Direct, the firm's ultra- low latency distribution platform, according to the release. In addition, clients will have access to nearly seven years of historical data, helping them to back-test their trading and investment strategies."Similar to our NewsScope Economic Events, the automated processes of NewsScope Company Events are focused on delivering the fastest source of key market moving data to our customers," stated Rich Brown, global business manager, Machine Readable News, in the release. " In addition to the timely data, we are committed to delivering the depth and breadth of content our customers need for successful event based trading strategies," added Brown.
